מכתב מחֻסַיְן אבן חַסַן אלכַּנְזִי אל האפרכוס הנובי אֻרֻוִּי באבְּרִים. חֻסַיְן מודיע לאֻרֻוִּי כי נושא המכתב מביא עמו סוס שהוא מתכוון למכור על מנת לכסות את הוצאות מחייתו. הוא מבקש מאֻרֻוִּי להעניק לאיש את חסותו. חֻסַיְן מאשר שקיבל את מכתבו של אֻרֻוִּי, שהובא בידי הנער-העבד (ע'לאם) אִפִּיסִי. המכתב מזכיר את עזיבתו של "הנוכחות הנעלה והגדולה והמכובדת", ואפשר שהכוונה לכַּנְז אלדַּוְלַה. חֻסַיְן מדווח שמלבד זאת הדברים מתנהלים כסדרם בצפון.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Ḥusayn ibn Ḥasan al-Kanzī to the Nubian eparch Uruwī in Ibrīm. Ḥusayn informs Uruwī that the bearer of this letter brings with him a horse that he plans to sell in order to cover his living costs. He asks Uruwī to extend his protection to this man. He acknowledges that he has received Uruwī's letter, which was brought by the slave boy (ghulām) Ipisi. The letter mentions the departure of "the exalted and great honourable presence," possibly referring to Kanz al-Dawla. Ḥusayn reports that things are otherwise in order in the north.
