שאלה הלכתית המופנית אל יהוסף ראש הסדר. עניינה במֻקדּם (ראש הקהילה) שדרש כי שמו ייכלל בקדיש כפי שנהוג היה לעשות עבור קודמיו בתפקיד (מן תקדמה מן אלמקדמין). "חלק מבני הקהילה התנגדו לו, מסיבותיהם שלהם" (מ"א פרידמן הציע כי מדובר היה גם במתנגדיו של אברהם בן הרמב"ם, ראו מאמרו על מחאה מרה כנגד ביטול הפיוטים בתפילה — בקשה לפנות אל הסולטאן, פעמים 1999). אחת הקבוצות החרימה את הקבוצה שכנגד. השם אלעזר הכהן ב"ר אהרן החבר מופיע בפינה השמאלית העליונה (ואולי גם בתחתיתו של מסמך נוסף שהיה במקור מעל מסמך זה).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal query addressed to Yehosef Rosh ha-Seder. Concerning a muqaddam who demanded that his name be included in the kaddish as had been done for his predecessors (man taqaddamahu min al-muqaddamīn). "Some of the congregation opposed him, for their own reasons" (M. A. Friedman has suggested that these were also opponents of Avraham Maimonides, see "A Bitter Protest about Elimination of Piyyutim from the Service — A Request to Appeal to the Sultan [Hebrew]," Peʿamim 1999). One of the groups excommunicated the other group. The name Elʿazar ha-Kohen b.
