מכתב מפורט ומנוסח בקפידה מאת אורג משי בשם אבו סעד בן אברהם אל בן דודו (אבן עם) צדקה בן צמח, ובו הוא מבקש הנחיות בנוגע לדגם הרצוי עבור הבגדים שהוזמנו, לצד פרטים רבים נוספים. חוטי המשי שנשלחו אל הכותב באמצעות אדם בשם נאצר הגיעו סבוכים (מֻכַּבַּל) והיה צורך לסדרם ולהתירם (חלל); הכותב לא ארג את הבגד שהוזמן משום שלא ניתנו לו הנחיות ברורות לגבי הדגם (נמודַ'ג'). הודעה מאוחרת יותר, שנמסרה על ידי אדם בשם צדקה — שונה כמובן מן הנמען של המכתב — מסרה "יֻרידֻהֻ בִּסַכּאכּין", כלומר "הוא רוצה את הדגם עם הסכינים", הוראה שנראתה לכותב בלתי מספקת. כמקובל, היצרן גם סוחר במוצרים מוגמרים: הוא מציע סוסיאת איכותיים ואַרְצ'ים (ארצ'יס, ברבים אראצ'י) מקומיים בעלי דקות מרבית (בשולי הדף, שורה 2), אך לא בדגם שאליו רומז הנמען. המידע מבוסס על רשימותיו של גויטיין. למסמכים נוספים בהם מופיע צדקה בן צמח (אם אין מדובר בשני אנשים שונים) ניתן למצוא הפניות, וביניהם מסמך בו נזכר צדקה בן צמח בן דאוד אלרקי, ואולי גם מסמך הממוען לאבו אלח'יר צדקה בן צמוח בן ססון. המידע גם מתוך עבודת הדוקטורט של עודד צינגר, עמ' 166, הערות 119–123.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Detailed, beautifully written letter of a silkweaver, Abū Saʿd b. Avraham, to his cousin (ibn ʿamm) Ṣedaqa b. Ṣemaḥ, asking for instructions as to the pattern wished for the garments ordered, and many other details. The yarn sent to the writer through one Nāṣir was entangled (mukabbal) and had to be put into order (ḥll); he had not woven the garment ordered, because no clear instructions had been given with regard to the pattern (numūdhaj); a later message, delivered by one Ṣedaqa—of course different from the receiver of the letter said 'yurīduhu bisakākīn,' 'he wishes the pattern with knives,' an instruction which seemed to the writer insufficient. As usual, the manufacturer also trades with finished products. He offers good sūsiyāt and local arḍīs (pl. arāḍī) of utmost thinness (margin l.2) but not of the pattern alluded to.
