קטע ממכתב ששלח נחמיה הכהן, גאון פומבדיתא, לאחד מבני הקהילה הבבלית בפֻסטאט, ככל הנראה בראשית שנת 963. בדומה למכתב מקביל, יוצא הכותב בפולמוס נגד "כחשון" (נחשון) ונגד "שבירא" (שרירא בן חנניה, לימים הגאון). הוא מבקש לחדש את הקשרים ביניהם באמצעות שליחו של הגאון — ככל הנראה שלמה בן עלי בן טבנאי — וכן באמצעות טוב אלוף ובניו של אהרן הבגדדי. צדו השני של הקטע נוצל מחדש לרישום חשבונות בכתב ערבי, הדומים בסגנונם לחשבונות המוכרים ממסמך אחר. פורסם על ידי גיל, "במלכות ישמעאל", כרך 2, מס' 17.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Fragment of a letter from Nehemya ha-Kohen, the Pumbedita Gaon, to one of the members of the Babylonian community in Fustat, probably the beginning of 963. As in Bodl. MS heb. b 12/25 (PGPID 5591), polemicizes against "Kaḥshon" (Naḥshon) and "Shevira" (the future Gaʾon Sherira b. Ḥananya). Asks to renew the connections between them by a gaon’s emissary, probably Shlomo b. ʿEli b. Ṭavnay, and by Ṭuv Aluf and the sons of Aharon ha-Baghdadi. Reused on verso for accounts in Arabic script resembling those in T-S 12.851 (PGPID 38160). (Gil, Kingdom, vol. 2, #17.) VMR
