העתק של איגרת ששלח רב סעדיה גאון ליהודי פוסטאט לרגל עלייתו לכס הגאונות בשנת 928. ההעתק שלפנינו נכתב במאה האחת-עשרה (בסביבות שנת 1028 לספירה, על פי הצד השני). באיגרת מדגיש רב סעדיה את חשיבותה של תורה שבעל פה, מזכיר בשמותיהם את תומכיו בבגדאד, וקורא ליהודי פוסטאט לשמור על קשרים הדוקים עמו ועם ישיבתו, היא ישיבת סורא. המידע מבוסס על גיל, מלכות, כרך 2, עמ' 27. יש לציין כי גיל ציין בטעות את מספר השמורה של הקטע מאוסף לואיס-גיבסון.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Copy of an epistle from Saʿadya Gaon to the Jews of Fustat, on the occasion of his assumption of the Gaʾonate in 928. This copy dates to the 11th century (ca. 1028 CE, based on verso). Saʿadya stresses the importance of the Oral Law, mentions the names of his supporters in Baghdad and urges the Jews of Fustat to maintain close links with him and his Academy, viz., Sura.
