Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Mūsā b. Isḥāq b. Ḥisda, al-Mahdiyya, to Yosef b. Ya’aqov b. Awkal, Fustat. The letter mentions details about shipments from and to Sicily, including a major shipwreck that destroyed most cargo. Offers details about a complex partnership in natron from Siracusa and flax from Būṣīr; pepper and sugar; goods stored in warehouses, advance payments and insurance-like arrangements. The trade route is the triangle between Sicily, Ifrīqiya, and Egypt. MR
