Princeton Geniza Project description: State document, in Arabic script. Decree of Shīrkūh, the vizier of al-ʿĀḍid, concerning the monks of Mt. Sinai. The caliph grants al-ʿĀḍid privileges to Macarius, bishop of Sinai and his monks, and prohibits exactions by the governors of al-Ṭūr or interference with monks traveling to Egypt.
