(מסמך מס' 16) הסכם אירוסין בין הכלה המיועדת לחתן המיועד: סולטאנה בת משה בן-חיים ומרדכי נסים בן נסים מרדכי. השם האחרון אינו נראה כטעות של הסופר, שכן הוא עקבי עם הצורה שבה מופיע שמו של החתן במסמך מס' 23 (כתובת הזוג). מועד החתונה נקבע לא' בניסן ה'תמ"ג, כך שמשך תקופת האירוסין כולה נותר פחות מחודש ימים.

Dated 9 Adar 5443 AM, which is 1683 CE. (Document #16) Engagement agreement between the prospective bride and groom: Sulṭana bt. Moshe Ben-Ḥayyim and Mordekhay Nissim b. Nissim Mordekhay. The latter name does not appear to be a scribal error given that it is consistent with the groom's nomenclature in document #23 (the couple's kettuba). The wedding date is set for 1 Nisan 5443 AM, leaving less than a month for the total duration of the couple's engagement. MCD
