רקטו: שאלה הלכתית בכתב ידו של משה בן לוי הלוי, המופנית אל הרמב"ם, שפעל במצרים בערך בשנים 1168–1204 לספירה. השאלה עוסקת בשותפים במיזם עסקי: השותף-הנוסע חזר ממסעו עם חריע (עֻצְפֻר), אך לא היה לסחורה זו ביקוש בשוק, ולכן הוחזקה למשך זמן עד שיימצא לה קונים. בתקופת ההמתנה הזו נפטר השותף-הנוסע מבלי שהותיר צוואה בפני בתי הדין היהודיים, והותיר אחריו ילדים קטינים. המקרה מורכב למדי, ובהמשך השאלה מובאים פרטים נוספים.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Recto: Legal query in the hand of Moshe b. Levi ha-Levi addressed to Maimonides, who was active in Egypt ca. 1168–1204 CE. Concerning partners in a business venture; the traveling partner returned with safflower (ʿuṣfur) but there was no market for it, so it was kept for a time until there should be a market for it. During this period, the traveling partner died without a will in the Jewish courts, leaving minor children. The case is quite convoluted and there follow more details.
