חוברת חשבונות של תכשיטנים, ככל הנראה בני משפחת רומאנו בקהיר. הכריכה עדיין שלמה. בתמונה השמינית מופיע התאריך [ד'ו] אלחג'ה 1220 להג'רה (1806 לסה"נ), שהסופר ציין כנקודת ההתחלה לחשבונות של שנה שלמה (כלומר בעקיפין 1221 להג'רה). אף שרוב העמודים ריקים, מופיעים בה חשבונות מפוזרים הכוללים פרטים רבים על עסקאות באבני חן יקרות, כגון: "יהלום מלוטש [שנמכר ל]מח[מד]/מח[מוד] קבאני", "פנינה [שנמכרה ל]אסתר עפיה", "חתיכת אזמרגד מוידה ו..לה[?]". בעסקאות רבות מצוין משקל כל אבן חן, ובחלקן המחירים אסטרונומיים: "חתיכת אזמרגד — 12,320 מדין", "קופסת יהלומים (חק'ת אלמאץ) — 38,000 מדין", "פנינה — 20,756 מדין". בני משפחת רומאנו השונים מוזכרים בשתי כותרות, והכותרת בתמונה 8 מונה את עסקאות השנה הקשורות ב"הר[ב] נ. (נ[סים]?) רומאנו ובנו/בנותיו", מה שמחזק את ההשערה כי הם התכשיטנים שלהם השתייכה חוברת חשבונות זו.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Booklet of jewelers' accounts, probably belonging to members of the Romano family in Cairo. The binding is still intact. Dated in the eighth image as [Dhū] l-Ḥijja 1220 AH (1806 CE), which the scribe mentioned as the starting point for a year's worth of accounts (so indirectly 1221 AH). Although most of the pages are blank, there are sporadic accounts with many details of transactions in precious gemstones, such as: "cut diamond [sold to] Muḥ[ammad]/Maḥ[mūd] Qabbānī," "pearl [sold to] Esther ʿAfiyya," "piece of emerald from Vida and ..la[?]." Many of the transactions mention the weight of each gemstone and some of the prices are astronomically high: "piece of emerald - 12,320 medin," "box of diamonds (ḥuqqat elmāṣ) – 38,000 medin," "pearl – 20,756 medin." Various members of the Romano family are mentioned in two headings and the heading in image 8 lists a year's worth of transactions involving "ha-R[av] N. (N[issim]?) Romano and his son(s)/daughter(s)," pointing to the likelihood that they were the jewelers to whom this account booklet belonged. MCD.
