מכתב בערבית-יהודית, ככל הנראה מדמירה או תִנّיס לפוסטאט. עניינו מסחרי. הכותב מדווח על תהפוכות רכישת פשתן וכותנה בדמירה, דמיאט וסֻנבּאט. הוא לא הצליח לשכור ספינה בדמירה, אך מבקש לשוב לפוסטאט מוקדם ככל שיוכל. הוא מבקש מהנמען לשלוח עבורו לפוסטאט שלושה ת'יאב יחד עם הת'וב שהנמען רכש בקיסריה. בצד השני (verso) הוא מוסר עדכונים על שותפים ויריבים שונים, ובכללם אבן סחקון, שספג מלקות (השם הזה מופיע גם במכתב נוסף, ואולי מדובר בצורת הקטנה של "אסחאק"). השולח מכנה את עצמו "אח" של הנמען, ומבקש ממנו גם למסור דרישת שלום ל"אב" חמדת הישיבה, וכן ל"אחים" ולבּו סעיד.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter in Judaeo-Arabic, probably from Damīra or Tinnīs to Fustat. Mercantile. The writer reports on the vicissitudes of purchasing flax and cotton in Damīra, Damietta, and Sunbāṭ. The writer has been unable to hire a boat in Damīra, but wishes to return to Fustat as soon as he is able to do so. He asks the addressee to send three thiyāb to Fustat for him along with the thawb that the addressee bought in Caesarea. On verso he gives updates on various associates and rivals including Ibn Saḥqūn, who received lashes (this name appears also in ENA NS 77.372 (PGPID 4554), perhaps a diminutive of Isḥāq). The sender refers to himself as the "brother" of the addressee and also asks him to convey greetings to "the father" Ḥemdat ha-Yeshiva, as well as to "the bothers" and Bū Saʿīd.
