אישור על פירעון חוב בעקבות אובדן שטר חוב קודם. מתוארך ליום שלישי, ג' בניסן ה'תמ"ג (1683 לסה"נ). עבד אלכרים בן יעקב אלצגיר, יהודי קראי ("מבני מקרא"), היה חייב ליעקב בן חיא בן טאטא סכום כולל של 600 מדין. כאשר ביקש עבד אלכרים מיעקב לקרוע את שטר החוב הקודם לאחר ששילם את הסכום, לא הצליח יעקב לאתר את השטר. בעקבות זאת, יעקב מעיד כעת כי עבד אלכרים פרע את הסכום במלואו, ועל כן הוא מוותר על כל תביעה נוספת בנוגע ל-600 המדין. על פי הפלאוגרפיה, הנוסחאות וזהות הסופר, מדובר במסמך משפטי רבני ששמור היה בידי עבד אלכרים, חבר הקהילה הקראית, וממנו ככל הנראה עבר לגניזת דאר סמחה. יעקב בן חיא בן טאטא היה ככל הנראה יהודי רבני, שכן כינוייו ותאריו אינם מציינים אחרת (כפי שמקובל בהופעות בבית דין פנים-קהילתי). הסופר של המסמך הוא אברהם בן דניאל, שמוכר ממסמכים נוספים פרי עטו.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Acknowledgment of payment following the loss of a prior debt acknowledgment document. Dated Tuesday 3 Nissan 5443 AM (1683 CE). ʿAbd al-Karīm b. Yaʿaqov al-Ṣaghīr, a Karaite Jew (מבני מקרא), was indebted to Yaʿaqov b. Ḥayya Ben-Ṭāṭā for a total of 600 medin. When ʿAbd al-Karīm asked that Yaʿaqov tear up the previous debt acknowledgment following his repayment of the sum, Yaʿaqov could not locate the sheṭar. Yaʿaqov now testifies that ʿAbd al-Karīm succesfully repaid the sum and he thus relinquishes any further claim to the 600 medin. Based on the paleography, formulae, and scribe this is a Rabbanite legal document that was preserved by ʿAbd al-Karīm, a member of the Karaite community, from whom it must have passed into the Dār Simḥa geniza. Yaʿaqov b. Ḥayya Ben-Ṭāṭā was presumably a Rabbanite Jew given that his nomenclature/honorifics do not specify otherwise (a norm for intra-communal court appearances).
