מכתב עסקי מח'יאר בן סלמאן רקאק (יצרן הקלף) לנמען בלתי ידוע. בערבית-יהודית. תיארוך משוער: ככל הנראה סוף המאה ה-11. נכתב על ידי סופר בשם עיאש, אשר מזדהה בשמו ומוסר דרישת שלום בשוליים. הלשון והסגנון גבוהים למדי, וכוללים ברכות חריגות ומילים נדירות. בקשתו הראשונה של השולח מן הנמען היא שייצג אותו בהשפלתו (ענאאך) במג'לס של אבו זכרי [...] סעדיה (ייתכן שמדובר בנגיד אבו זכרי יהודה בן סעדיה, שכיהן בין השנים 1065 ל-1077 או 1079 לערך) על מנת להגיע לפיוס (אאסיאן). לאחר מכן הוא מתבקש להיפגש עם דודו מצד אמו, אברהם בן מנשה בן מ[...], "אולי ביום שהמג'לס שלו עמוס", כדי להעביר את תוכן המכתב הזה (באופן פומבי ככל האפשר). המכתב ממשיך: "אם הוא רם מכדי (לקבל) הכרת תודה ממני...". השולח מאיץ בנמען שלא להזניח עניין זה ה"חשוב מאוד". בשוליים דרישות שלום ממספר אנשים. ייתכן שמסמך נוסף נכתב באותה יד.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Business letter, from Khiyār b. Salmān Raqqāq (the parchment-maker) to an unknown addressee. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: Likely ca. late 11th century. Written by a scribe, ʿAyyāsh, who identifies himself and sends greetings in the margin. The language and style are quite elevated, including unusual blessings and obscure words. The first request from the addressee is that he represent the sender in humbling himself (ʿanāʾak) in the majlis of Abū Zikrī [...] Saʿadya (this might be the Nagid Abū Zikrī Yehuda b. Saʿadya, r. ca. ca. 1065 to 1077 or 1079) in order to achieve a reconciliation (āsiyan). Then, he is asked to meet with his maternal uncle Avraham b. Menashshe b. M[...], "perhaps on a day that his majlis is crowded," in order to convey the contents of this letter (in as public a way as possible). The letter continues, "If he is too grand for (receiving) gratitude from me. . . ." The sender urges the addressee not to neglect this "very important" matter. Greetings from various people in the margin. T-S NS J38r may be in the same hand.
