רקטו: מכתב מאבו אלפרג' אל שמואל. בעברית ובערבית-יהודית. רווח רחב בין השורות. הסופר משתמש באות ש במקום ס לציון האות הערבית س. הכותב מתנצל ומתרץ את עצמו על משהו ('זה לא היה בבחירתי'), מבקש סליחה, ולאחר מכן דן בעניין כספי הכרוך ב-66 דרהם. ורסו: פתק לא-רשמי הממוען לאבו אלפרג', ככל הנראה תשובתו של שמואל. כתוב בשרבוט חפוז (בניגוד בולט לרקטו). הוא נותן הוראות בנוגע לסכום הכסף שיש לשלוח.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Recto: Letter from Abū l-Faraj to Shemuel. In Hebrew and Judaeo-Arabic. Wide space between the lines. The scribe uses ש instead of ס for س. The writer makes excuses for something ('it wasn't my choice') and apologizes and then discusses a financial matter involving 66 dirhams. Verso: Informal note addressed to Abū l-Faraj, presumably the response from Shemuel. Written in a hasty scrawl (a stark contrast from recto). He gives instructions about how much money to send.
