מכתב מן מניית זפתא לפוסטאט. הכותב נשלח אל מניית זפתא כדי למסור הוראה לדיין שבתי בן אברהם (פעיל בין השנים 1135–1178), ככל הנראה לזמנו לפוסטאט. עם הגיעו למניית זפתא מצא שם מגפה שגרמה למספר רב של מקרי מוות בקהילה היהודית. הכותב מדגיש את נכונותו של שבתי לציית, אך הוא ממתין להוראה האם עליו לבוא בכל זאת לאור הנסיבות. בנוסף, הכותב מוסר את תלונתם של מקומיים שונים, שלפיה לכל עיירה אחרת ברִיף יש בית כנסת, ואילו להם אין. בין השמות הנזכרים במכתב: סאלם ואבו אלח'ציב.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Minyat Zifta to Fustat. The writer had been sent to Minyat Zifta to deliver an instruction to the judge Shabbetay b. Avraham (active 1135–78), it seems to summon him to Fustat. Upon arriving in Minyat Zifta, he found an epidemic that had caused a large number of deaths in the Jewish community. The writer emphasizes Shabbetay's willingness to obey but awaits instruction on whether he still needs to come in light of the circumstances. The writer also conveys the complaint of various locals that every other town in the Rif has a synagogue, but they do not. Names mentioned: Sālim; and Abū l-Khaṣīb.
