מסמך משפטי בעברית. נכתב בקהיר ומתוארך לסוף סיון ה'תקע"ח, הוא יולי 1818. חוזה חניכות בין התלמיד אברהם פוארטי לבין המורה יהודה בונאן. אברהם ילמד אצל יהודה את מקצוע ה"צרפליק" (חלפנות כספים) למשך 24 חודשים, ובכלל זה ילמד "איך לספור הכסף כמנהג כאן, כל 1000 מדינים בנייר אחד". בשנה הראשונה ישתכר 40 מדינים בשבוע, ובשנה השנייה 60 מדינים בשבוע. הקנס על הפרת החוזה נקבע ל-100 גרוש אסדי, שישולמו לצד הנפגע. המסמך נכתב ונחתם בידי הסופר מאיר בן-נעים. בצדו השני (ורסו) מופיעים שני תרגולי קולמוס — "תגרבת" — בערבית-יהודית.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal document. In Hebrew. Location: Cairo. Dated: End of Sivan, 5578 AM, which is July 1818 CE. Apprentice contract for Avraham Fuerte, the student, and Yehuda Būnān, the teacher. Avraham will study the trade of sarraflik (money changing) from Yehuda for a period of 24 months. He will learn "how to count money as is customary here, every 1000 medins in one paper." For the first year, the weekly wage will be 40 medins. For the second year, the weekly wage will be 60 medins. The fine for violating the contract is 100 esedi gurush to be paid to the other party. The document was scribed and signed by Meʾīr Ben-Naʿīm. The verso has two pen exercises "תגרבת" in Judaeo-Arabic. MCD.
