מכתב בעברית מראש הקהילה של צהרג'ת, עיירה קטנה בדלתא של הנילוס, המדווח על הטיפול של הקהילה המקומית במקרה סבוך במיוחד של סכסוך בין בני זוג. אדם נשא לאישה את אחותה של אשתו שנפטרה, אך הנישואין לא עלו יפה. על פי המסופר במכתב, פנתה האישה לבית דין מוסלמי בבקשה שיגרשה מבעלה.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter in Hebrew from the communal head of Ṣahrajt, a small Delta town, reporting on the local communityʼs handling of a particularly problematic case of marital strife. A man married the sister of his deceased wife, but the marriage was not a success, and, as the letter narrates the events, the wife appealed to a Muslim court to divorce her from her husband.
