בצד ה-verso (השימוש המקורי): שלושה בתי שיר ערביים (ערבית-יהודית) על הגעגועים למולדת, שנכתבו בידי שמואל בן אלעזר אבן [...]ש, רופא מאלכסנדריה שהתגורר בקוץ. השיר מלווה בקולופון ארוך. "הגעגוע לא הותיר בי שמץ של סבלנות, אלא פוקד אותי יומם ולילה. סבלנותי מתה, קבורה עמוק בתחתית הקבר. ספינות כיסופַי עגנו על חופי הגעגוע." לפי גויטיין.
