מכתב ככל הנראה מאבו סהל לוי (נפטר 1211) בפוסטאט, כנראה אל בנו משה בן לוי הלוי (נפטר 1212), כנראה בקליוב. רובו בערבית-יהודית, ומספר מילים אחרונות בשוליים כתובות באותיות ערביות. נראה שמשה הסתכסך עם אשתו, ואביו דוחק בו לבוא לפוסטאט ביום ראשון, כפי שנהג. אחיו של משה התייעץ עם אסטרולוג ואף הוא מבקש שיבוא במהירות כדי שיוכל לספר לו מה אמר האסטרולוג. גויטיין שיחזר את הסיטואציה באופן שונה במקצת: לדבריו, אשת הכותב הסתכסכה עם אשת הנמען, על הנמען לבוא לבקר ביום ראשון הקרוב מאחר שהיה ביחסים טובים עם אשת הכותב, ועל הנמען להעמיד פנים שיביא עמו את אשתו. נראה שגויטיין קרא בשורה 10 "אשתי" (ג'וזתי) כהתייחסות לאשת השולח, אך סביר יותר שזה נאמר מנקודת מבטו של הנמען (ותקול אנא דאכ'ל אחאכם ג'וזתי). Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter probably from Abū Sahl Levi (d. 1211), in Fustat, probably to his son Moshe b. Levi ha-Levi (d. 1212), probably in Qalyūb. Mainly in Judaeo-Arabic, with the last few words in the margin in Arabic script. Moshe has apparently quarreled with his wife. His father urges him to come in to Fustat on Sunday, as is his habit. Moshe's brother has consulted an astrologer and also wants him to come quickly so that he can tell him what the astrologer said. Goitein reconstructs the situation somewhat differently, "The writer's wife quarreled with the wife of the recipient.... The recipient should visit next Sunday, since he was at peace with the writer's wife. The recipient should feign that he would bring his own wife to come." It seems that Goitein read "my wife" (jawzatī) in l. 10 as a reference to the sender's wife, but likely this is from the perspective of the addressee (wa-taqūl anā dākhil uhākim jawzatī).
