מסמך משפטי בכתב ידו של חלפון בן מנשה (פעיל בשנים 1100–1138). הסכם בין שני קבלנים הנוגע לצינור ניקוז. התאריך לא השתמר. בשוליים הימניים מופיעות שלוש שורות מחוקות בקווים. ככל שניתן לשחזר ממצבו המקוטע של המסמך, אלה העובדות העומדות ביסודו: הושגה הסכמה (אסתקרא) (שורה 2) בין שני אנשים (שורה 2), שלפיה הותר לאחד מהם לבדוק את צינור הניקוז פעם בחודש — צינור שככל הנראה עבר דרך נכסו של הצד השני — מתוך חשש שמא יקרה דבר מה (שורה 3), היינו שמא ייסתם הצינור. הצינור עבר דרך קאעה (qāʿa) (שורה 11), כלומר חצר, שהייתה שייכת לצד השני; צינורות אלה נוקו באופן סדיר ולעיתים קרובות נסתמו. היה חיוני לכלול בחוזה גם את יורשיהם של שני הצדדים (שורה 11) כדי להבטיח את המשך הרשות לבדיקה גם בעתיד. הוצאו שני מסמכים לשני הקבלנים. לא נותרו חתימות. Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal document. In the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe (fl. 1100-1138 CE). An agreement between two contractors concerning a drainage pipe. Date not preserved. On the right-side margin three crossed-out lines appear. "As far as the fragmentary state of the document permits, the following are the facts underlying it: an agreement was reached (istaqarra) (l. 2) between two persons (l. 2) according to which one of them was permitted to inspect the drainage pipe once a month which probably was running through the other party's property, since it was feared that something might happen (l. 3) (i.e., lest the pipe be barred). The pipe went through a qāʿa (l. 11), a yard, belonging to the other party; these pipes were regularly cleared and often were jammed. It was essential to include the heirs of both parties (l. 11) to the contract in order to secure a continuous permission of inspection in the future. Two documents were issued to both contractors.
