מכתב מאדם בשם יוסף אל יצחק החבר בבלנסיה (ולנסיה). בערבית-יהודית. לפי אמיר אשור, כתב היד מצרי ולא ספרדי, אם כי המתכונת מזכירה מכתבים ספרדיים. תיארוך: ככל הנראה המאה ה-12. מוזכרת נסיעה לאלמריה. כרטיסיית גויטיין מסכמת: "אדם שאין לו פרנסה מלבד העתקת ספרים פונה אל ידיד לעזרה. כתב יד ספרדי(?) או מאוחר. אין דבר חשוב." יש הצעה שהמכתב קשור אולי למסמך נוסף, ושמו של יוסף נדון בהקשרים לשוניים אצל פרידמן.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from a certain Yosef to Yiṣḥaq he-Ḥaver, in Valencia (בלנסיה). In Judaeo-Arabic. The hand is Egyptian rather than Spanish (per Amir Ashur) though the layout is reminiscent of Spanish letters. Dating: probably 12th century. Mentions travel to Almeria. Goitein's index card summarizes, "A man who has no income except from copying books turns to a friend for help. Spanish(?) or late hand. Nothing important."
