מסמך משפטי מפוסטאט, מיום כ' בשבט א'שנ"ד למניין השטרות = 3 בפברואר 1043. נכתב ונחתם בידי החזן יפת בן דוד בן שכניה, וחתום גם בידי שלמה בן זכר. בגוף המסמך מעורבים יונה בן שלמה, [...] סעיד, וחֻסן בת בנימין, וכן שתי נערות בשם זין בת ס[...] וטֻרכיה. ייתכן שמדובר בהסכמה של חלק מהמבוגרים לקבל על עצמם את הטיפול בנערות. לפי כרטיסיית גויטיין, ייתכן שמדובר בבנותיו של יפת בן דוד עצמו (המסמך אכן מזכיר חזן). בצד האחורי (verso) מופיעות מספר שורות של חשבונות בערבית-יהודית, אף הן בכתב ידו של יפת בן דוד: הוצאות לשבוע ימים (משישי עד חמישי) — תרנגולות 3, שמן זית 1 1/8.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal document. Location: Fustat. Dated: 20 Shevaṭ 1354 Seleucid = 3 February 1043 CE. Written and signed by the cantor Yefet b. David b. Shekhanya. Also signed by Shelomo b. Zakhar. The document itself involves Yona b. Shelomo, [...] Saʿīd, and Husn bt. Binyamin, and two girls named Zayn bt. S[...] and Turkiyya. Possibly some of the adults are agreeing to take care of the girls. Goitein's index card suggests that these are the daughters of Yefet b. David himself (the document does refer to a cantor). On verso there are a few lines of Judaeo-Arabic accounts (also in the hand of Yefet b. David). Expenses for 1 week (Friday thorugh Thursday): chickens 3, olive oil 1 1/8.
