מכתב בעברית. אליה בן אליקים, היושב בכרתים, כותב אל משה בן יהודה באלכסנדריה. תאריך: 1484 לסה"נ (התאריך נכתב במסמך בקטע האיטלקי שבצד ב'). נושא המכתב: הזמנת כתב יד ומשלוחי יין וגבינה. באשר לכתב היד, אליה הופקד על השגת עותק של פירוש הרמב"ן על התורה. תחילה פנה אל הנכבד ויטור רויגע (השר ויטור רויגע), אך זה לא ידע דבר על אופן השגתו. בהמשך חיפושיו מצא עותק אחד הכתוב על נייר חדש ובכתב יד מעולה במחיר של 8 דוקטים. כמו כן שמע שמועות על עותק נוסף הכתוב על קלף במחיר של 15 דוקטים. אליה מבקש הנחיות כיצד להמשיך ולפעול בעניין. בסוף המכתב שולח אליה דרישת שלום לצדקה (נס או ניס), לאברהם תלמיד וליוסף קסטרו ספרדי. בצד ב' של המסמך מופיעות שלוש שורות כתובות באיטלקית, וכן חותם הפוך (תמונת ראי) של כמה פסוקי מקרא.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter. In Hebrew. Eliyya b. Elyaqim, in Crete, writes to Moshe b. Yehuda, in Alexandria. Dating: 1484 CE (written in the document in the Italian portion on verso). Subject: Commissions of a manuscript and shipments of wine and cheese. Regarding the manuscript, Eliyya has been tasked with acquiring a copy of Nachmanides's commentary on the Torah. He first approached the notable Vittore Royge (? השר ויטור רויגע) who knew nothing about how to obtain it. He asked further and found one copy on new paper in an excellent hand for 8 ducats. He has also heard rumors of another one on parchment for 15 ducats. Eliyya asks for instructions on how to proceed. Eliyya sends regards to Ṣedaqa (Nes or Nīs) and Avraham Talmid and Yosef Castro Sefaradi. Verso contains three lines of writing in Italian and the mirror-image imprint of some biblical verses.
