איגרת משפחתית מאת נתן בן יהודה מאלכסנדריה (בערך 1160) אל משה בן צמח ואחיו בפוסטאט, שהיו בני דודיו מצד אשתו. נתן בן יהודה מדווח שכל בני הבית חולים בעקבות מגפה גדולה של "מחלת ההזעה" (וח'ם) שפרצה באלכסנדריה. הוא מהלל את שני האחים על נדיבותם הרבה, אך גם מזכיר להם בעדינות כי הגיעה השעה שיישאו נשים, ומביע את משאלתו שאמם תזכה לראות בשמחתם. Princeton Geniza Project description: Family letter from Natan b. Yehuda (Alexandria, ca. 1160) to Moshe b. Ṣemaḥ and his brother (Fustat), the writer’s cousins-in-law. Natan b. Yehuda reports that everyone in the house was ill because of a great epidemic of sweating sickness (wakham) in Alexandria. He praises the brothers for their munificence but also politely reminds them that it was time for them to marry and wishes that their mother may see their “joy”.
