מכתב מאת דוד בן עמאר אלמדיני, סביבות שנת 1040. שם הנמען ומקומו חסרים. הכותב מצפה למשלוחים מן הנמען ומציע שיישלחו אליו באמצעות אחד משלושה אנשים — ביניהם שני מוסלמים הנושאים את הכינוי "חאג'" (כינוי המעיד על כך שעלו לרגל למכה בעבר) — אך לא את הזהב. במכתב מוזכרים מסחר בפנינים (או באלמוגים), טקסטיל, משי, ועוד. המכתב מתוארך לשנים 1038–1045. המידע מבוסס על גיל, ממלכת ישמעאל, כרך 4, מס' 655.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from David b. ʿAmmar al-Madinī. Around 1040. The addressee and place are missing. The writer expect deliveries from the addressee and suggests he would send them (but not the gold) with one of three people, including two Muslims with the name “Hajj” (that made a pilgrimage to Mecca in the past).
