מכתב מניסים בן בנאיא, מאלכסנדריה, אל אבו אלאפראח ערוס בן יוסף, בפוסטאט. התיארוך: בערך 1085 לפי גיל, או 1100 לפי גויטיין. ניסים הביא סכום כסף עבור ערוס מן המגרב ונאלץ לשלוח אותו לפוסטאט במזומן. הוא היה מעדיף להמיר את הכסף באלכסנדריה בשטר חליפין (סויפתג'ה) על פוסטאט, אך הדבר לא התאפשר. לפי גיל. המכתב נכתב זמן קצר לאחר שובו של ניסים בן בנאיא מן המגרב בסביבות שנת 1100 לפי גויטיין, והוא רווי בהבעות תודה כלפי הנמען. בצדו השני של הדף נעשה שימוש חוזר על ידי ערוס לרישומי חשבונות.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Nissim b. Benāyā, in Alexandria, to Abū l-Afrāḥ ʿArūs b. Yosef, in Fustat. Dating: ca. 1085 (Gil) or 1100 (Goitein). Nissim brought a sum of money for ʿArūs from the Maghreb and had to send it to Fustat in cash. He would have preferred to exchange the money in Alexandria for a bill of exchange from Fustat but this was not possible. (Information from Gil, Kingdom, Vol. 3, p. 1009.)
