מכתב מאת מח'תאר בן יעקב אל אבו אלעלא צאעד בן נג'א, המתאר את סיועו של חסן בן בנדאר. אבו אלעלא צאעד, "הנאמן", היה מקורבו של מבורך בן סעדיה, הרופא בחצר המלוכה ורא'יס אליהוד של האימפריה הפאטמית באותה תקופה. עיקרו של המכתב עוסק בסחורות — ציפורן ועצי בשמים — שנסחרו בין השולח לנמען. אבן בנדאר סייע למסחר באמצעות התכתבויות. בנוסף, המכתב כולל בקשה שהרא'יס יתערב ויסדיר את עיזבונו של סוחר בשם אבו סעד בן רשיד. תאריך: עדן, בערך 1100 (המידע מבוסס על גויטיין ופרידמן, עמ' 283). בצד האחורי מופיעות מספר שורות בערבית.
Princeton Geniza Project description: IB II, 1. Letter from Mukhtar b. Yaʿaqov to Abu l-ʿAlā Ṣāʿid b. Naja describing Ḥasan b. Bundār's assistance. Abu l-ʿAlā Ṣāʿid, the "Trustee", was a close confidant of Mevōrākh b. Saadya, the court physician and Rayyis al-Yahūd of the Fatimid Empire at the time. The letter primarily concerns goods — cloves and aromatic wood — traded between the sender and the addressee. Ibn Bundār assisted in the trade by way of correspondence. Additionally, the letter contains a request that the Rayyis intercede and settle the estate of a trader, Abū Saʿd b. Rashīd. Dating: Aden, ca. 1100.
