ספר הודו ב', 45a. מכתב בכתב ידו של יוסף בן אברהם בן בונדאר, ככל הנראה מעדן, אל סלימאן בנו של אבו זכרי הכהן, בפוסטאט. תיארוך: בערך 1152. לפי גויטיין ופרידמן, יוסף בן אברהם כותב הכחשה נרגשת ורבת רגש לטענות שהועלו נגדו, ולפיהן מעל בסחורה שהושארה במחסן. הוא מתחנן בפני נמענו, שהאשים אותו בבגידה ובמעילה, להאמין לו שאמנם מצא את החבילה הנדונה בתוך המכולה שלו, אך אין לו מושג כיצד הגיעה לשם. בכל מקרה, מעולם לא פתח אותה ולא הפיק ממנה כל תועלת ("לא בעולם הזה ולא בעולם הבא"). הוא מעלה את הסברה שהאשמות הנמען נובעות מחשד שיוסף נושא לו טינה — טינה שלפי שורת הדין היה אכן ראוי שיחוש כלפיו, אך הוא איננו חש בה. הכותב היה שרוי באותה עת בעת צרה ובמצב כלכלי קשה. ניתן רק לשער האם הצרה והטינה שאליהן הוא רומז קשורות לכישלון עסקי כלשהו או לעניין אחר.

Princeton Geniza Project description: IB II, 45a. Letter in the hand of Yosef b. Avraham b. Bundār, probably in Aden, to Abū Zikrī Kohen's son Sulaymān, in Fustat. Dating: ca. 1152. From Goitein and Friedman, India Traders, 432: "Joseph b. Abraham writes an impassioned denial of accusations that he had misappropriated merchandise that had been left in the warehouse. He pleads with his correspondent, who had accused him of betrayal and embezzlement, to believe that he had found the package in question in his container but did not know how it got there. In any event, he never opened it and derived no benefit from it ("either in this world or in the hereafter"). He suggests that his correspondent's accusations stem from suspicion that Joseph bore him a grudge-which, by rights, he should have, but doesn't. The writer had fallen on hard times. We can only guess whether the trouble and grudge, to which he alludes, were connected with a business misadventure or with some other matter."
