Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal record (#117) in a court register/pinqas from a Karaite beit din in Cairo (on f. 38v of Yevr.-Arab. I 328). The date is damaged, with only the day of the week legible and month of Av visible. This record was almost certainly recorded in Av [5327] given that the entry just below it on the same page is dated in this month/year. Incomplete draft of testimony surrounding transactions and/or outstanding debts. One of the interested parties, perhaps certain Aharon [b. ...?], appears before the court regarding a sum of gold ashrafi coinage that is somehow connected to the death of Yosef Fayrūz– perhaps outstanding debts from documents that he gave to some one else before dying, but some of the key details in the opening lines are missing. The closing lines mention that Shelomo Fayrūz, the son-in-law of the person testifying, commits to pay a sum of money to Shemuʾel b. Yaʿaqov al-Levi al-Somekh al-Qayyim (probably an outstanding debt mentioned earlier in the document). MCD.
