ביפוליו של חיבור בערבית-יהודית הכולל מתכונים מפורטים לבחינת איכותן של אבנים יקרות. העמוד הימני של ה-verso מתאר את ההליך הנדרש לבדיקת פנינה: בשלב הראשון יש להשרותה בחומץ אתרוג למשך שבוע; בשלב מאוחר יותר יש להחדירה לבטנו של דג ולבשל את הדג; בהמשך מאכילים בה תרנגולת ומשגיחים עליה עד שתפריש את הפנינה; ולבסוף אופים אותה בתנור. אם לאחר כל ההליכים הללו הפנינה עודנה צלולה וללא כל עכירות, סימן שהיא מן האיכות המשובחת ביותר (אחסן מא יכון).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Bifolio of a text in Judaeo-Arabic containing elaborate recipes for testing the quality of precious stones. The righthand page of verso details the procedure for a pearl. The first step is to soak it in citron vinegar for a week; a subsequent step is to insert it into a fish's belly and cook the fish; a further step is to feed it to a chicken and observe the chicken until it defecates the pearl; finally you bake it in an oven. If after all this the pearl is still clear without any turbidness, you will know that it is of the highest quality (aḥsan mā yakūn).
