תיאור

עצומה אל הווזיר אלדולה אלעות'מאניה, בבקשה להקל את עול המסים והנטל המוטל על הקהילה הקראית בקשר לבית הקברות שלהם. חתומים על העצומה שישה אנשים, שלושה מהם מתוארים כ"אלח'אדם ללעלם באלאזהאר" (משרתי החכמה באלאזהר). בצדו האחורי של המסמך מופיעה הערה ביהודית-ערבית המתארת את המסמך כ"פתווא מארבעה חכמי האסלאם להקלת המסים מעל היהודים הקראים". המסמך היה ברשות הקהילה הקראית של קהיר בבית הכנסת דאר סמחה שבחארת זווילה, ושם תועד על ידי ד"ש ריצ'רדס בשנת 1969. ריצ'רדס פרסם לאחר מכן את תיאורי כל המסמכים שמצא שם במאמרו משנת 1972 (המסמך מופיע שם כמספר XXV). כיום שמור המסמך בספרייה הלאומית בישראל.

Princeton Geniza Project description: A petition to the wazīr al-dawla al-ʿuthmānīyya, to alleviate excess taxed and burdens from the Qaraite community, in relation to their cemetery. Signed by 6 persons, three of them are described as "al-khādim li-l-ʿilm bi-al-azhār". On the back side a Judeo-Arabic note describing the documents as a "fatwā from four scholars of Islam to alleviate the taxes from the Qaraite Jews". The document was in the possesion of the Qaraite community of Cairo in the Dār Simḥa synagogue in Ḥārat Zuwayla and was documented there by D. S. Richards in 1969, who later published the description of all the documents he found there in his 1972 article (as document no. XXV). Today the document is at the National Library of Israel.
