מכתב שבעבר סברו כי נשלח מקהיר לבלביס ובו בקשה לסייע בתשלום מס הגולגולת (ג'אליה) עבור מלמד עני ובנו (חלק מהמידע מבוסס על כרטיסיית גויטיין). כתב היד של המכתב הוא של יהודה בן טוביהו, המֻקַדַּם של בלביס. ייתכן שהנמען נקרא אלישע. השולח מדווח כי שמע שרבנו משה (הרמב"ם) ביקש ממנו לעלות (ככל הנראה מבלביס לפוסטאט), אך אין הוא יכול לעשות זאת בשל קשיים הקשורים בבהמת רכיבה (אולי בעקבות מחלתו?). בהמשך הוא ממליץ על מוסר המכתב, אסמאעיל אבן אלמלמד אבן אלסדלו(?), ומבקש סיוע עבורו בתשלום מס הגולגולת. שם המשפחה הזה מופיע גם במסמך אחר מאותה משפחה.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter at one point thought to have been sent from Cairo to Bilbays containing a request to contribute to the capitation tax of a poor teacher and his son. (Information in part from Goitein's index card.) The handwriting of the letter is that of Yehuda b. Ṭuviyyahu the muqaddam of Bilbays. The addressee may be called Elishaʿ. The sender reports that he heard that Rabbenu Moshe (Maimonides) asked him to come up (presumably from Bilbays to Fustat), but he cannot do this due to difficulties related to a riding animal (due to his illness?). He then recommends the bearer Ismāʿīl ibn al-Melammed Ibn al-Sadlū(?) (the same family name appears in T-S NS 220.32 (PGPID 23967)) for help with the capitation tax.
