Princeton Geniza Project description: Ketubba, well-preserved with an ornate border. Location: Banhā, Egypt. Dated 8 Kislev 5_17 AM, with a value "שע" for the hundreds place that must be a scribal error. The paleography and level of preservation suggest that the intended year may be 5517 or 5617 AM (18th- or 19th-century), with the latter seeming more likely based on these factors. The groom was Avraham ha-Levi and the bride Reyna bt. Nissim Taḥves[?] (תתחוויס). The signature from the groom Avraham Levi includes an additional name "Mansūr" that does not appear in the body of the ketubba. A total valuation of 1,000 (kurush) arayōt is given for the ketubba, a currency type that is common in 18th-19th century documents likely indicating Austrian thalers or Spanish reales. MCD.
