מכתב הממוען לאדם בשם עז אל-דין. כתוב בערבית-יהודית. מקורו בתימן. התיארוך אינו ודאי, אך ככל הנראה אינו קדום מן המאה ה-13. המכתב עוסק בעיקרו בפרטי משלוחים של סוגים שונים של דגנים בכלי הובלה שונים, ובכלל זה משלוח דגנים לצנעא ומסירה ל"בית הכיפה" (בית אל-קֻבּה). מוזכרים בו מספר שמות, בהם עבד אל-מנעם, חסין, זיד, מחמד בן אל-חאג', צאלח בן עלי, סלימאן אל-שראעי (? אלשראעי), וכן סאלם, בנו של השולח. נראה כי אירעה גניבה של דגנים ממקום אחסונם התת-קרקעי (אל-מדפן), וחלק נכבד מן המכתב מוקדש לתיאור החקירה שערכו בעקבות זאת. בסיום דבריו מדגיש השולח כי מעולם לא הסגיר סוד לאיש.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter addressed to a certain ʿIzz al-Dīn. In Judaeo-Arabic. Yemeni origin. Dating: uncertain, likely no earlier than 13th century. Dealing mainly with details of shipments of different kinds of grains in different kinds of containers, including shipping grain to Ṣanʿāʾ and a delivery to "the house of the dome" (bayt al-qubba). Mentions several names including ʿAbd al-Munʿim, Ḥusayn, Zayd, Muḥammad b. al-Ḥājj, Ṣāliḥ b. ʿAlī, Sulaymān al-Sharāʿī (? אלשראעי), and the sender's son Sālim. There seems to have been a theft of the grain from its underground storage (al-madfan), and much of the letter is a description of how they investigated this. The sender concludes by emphasizing that he has never betrayed a secret to anyone.
