מכתב עסקי הממוען לאדם בשם אבו סעד. השולח מדווח כי אלחאג' ג'וואד הודיע לו שאחיינו פתוח' בן בראך הוא זה שיעביר את המשי. הוא מפציר בנמען לרכוש עבורו חוט (ע'זל; גויטיין מתרגם זאת כ"פשתן") באיכות טובה. בתחתית הדף, הפוך, מופיעות שתי שורות בכתב ערבי המכילות נוסח מסעיף עדות משפטי (אשהדני בד'לך וכתב...). בצד האחורי מופיעה מילה אחת בכתב ערבי (אלמבלע'?) לצד חשבונות שנכתבו בספרות יווניות/קופטיות. Princeton Geniza Project description: Business letter addressed to a certain Abu Saʿd. The sender reports that the Ḥājj Jawwād informed him that his nephew Futūḥ b. Barāk will be the one to hand over the silk. He urges the addressee to purchase good quality yarn (ghazal; Goitein translates this as "linen") for him. At the bottom, upside down, there are two lines of Arabic script containing language from a legal witness clause (ashhadanī bi-dhālika wa-kataba. . . .). On verso there is one word in Arabic script (al-mablagh?) accompanied by accounts in Greek/Coptic numerals. (Information in part from Goitein's index cards)
