שבר קטן מתחילת מכתב בכתב ערבי. מורכב מברכות שגרתיות. הנמען מכונה 'אל-חצ'רה אל-טאהרה' שבהקשר אחר יכול להתייחס לח'ליף, אך זהו מכתב שגרתי למדי וספק אם הנמען הוא הח'ליף. שומש מחדש לטקסט ספרותי עברי בין השורות ובפנים.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Small fragment from the beginning of a letter in Arabic script. Consists of formulaic greetings. The addressee is referred to as 'al-ḥaḍra al-ṭāhira' which in another context could refer to the caliph, but this is a very routine-appearing letter and it is doubtful that the addressee is the caliph. Reused for Hebrew literary text between the lines and on recto.
