מכתב/עצומה מגבר לקבוצת שופטים הטוען שהוא משלם מזונות מספיקים לאשתו [...] בת חיים(?) בן [..]הא(?) ולשפחתה ולבת בת שלוש שנים, בתשלומים שבועיים שנמסרים דרך מחפוז, שומר (קייים) בית הכנסת הארץ ישראלי. הוא מתלונן שהיא תמיד מערערת על התשלומים וגוררת אותו לבית הדין, והוא אדם חולה וסובל מכך. תיארוך: כרבע השלישי של המאה ה-12.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter/petition from a man to a group of judges asserting that he pays sufficient support to his wife [...] bt. Ḥayyim(?) b. [..]hā(?) and to her female slave and to a three-year-old daughter, in weekly payments delivered via Maḥfūẓ the caretaker (qayyim) of the Palestinian synagogue. He complains that she is always disputing the payments and dragging him to court, and he is a sick man and is suffering due to this. Dating: ca. third quarter of the 12th century, as Maḥfūẓ is a known figure (elsewhere referred to as the beadle/khādim of the synagogue).
