מכתב מאבו עומר בן הלאל אל אבו אלפרג' בן אברהים, באלכסנדריה. כתוב בערבית-יהודית, כאשר הכתובת מופיעה הן בערבית-יהודית והן בכתב ערבי. תיארוך: בסביבות שנת 1200 לסה"נ (לפי גויטיין). הנמען מכונה בפי השולח 'בני'. המכתב מתאר את הסבת בית לבית מלאכה, דבר שהוציא את השולח משלוותו ('יצאתי מדעתי'). הוא פנה אל ה'ריאס' (הראיס) ואיים להגיש תלונה לשלטונות (סולטאן). ייתכן שיש בו אזכור של 'מכתב הנשים' (כתאב אלנסא). מוזכר הדיין מנחם, שאף הוא 'יצא מדעתו'. כמו כן מוזכרים אנשים נוספים, ובהם אבו סעיד אבן אלמקדסי (שמופיע גם במסמך אחר מסביבות שנת 1160 לסה"נ) ואבו אלמעאני. במכתב נכללות דרישות שלום לאחותו ולאמו של הנמען. צירוף: אלן אלבאום.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Abū ʿUmar b. Hilāl to Abū l-Faraj b. Ibrāhīm, in Alexandria. In Judaeo-Arabic with the address both in Judaeo-Arabic and Arabic script. Dating: ca. 1200 CE (per Goitein). The addressee is called 'my son' by the sender. Describing the conversion of a house into a workshop, which has deeply upset the sender ('I went out of my mind'). He went to the 'rayyis' and threatened to complain to the government (sulṭān). May refer to 'the letter of the women' (kitāb al-nisā). Mentions the judge Menaḥem, who also 'went out of his mind.' Mentions other people including Abū Saʿīd Ibn al-Muqaddasī (appears also in Bodl. MS heb. f 22/47 (PGPID 605) ca. 1160 CE) and Abū l-Maʿanī.
