מכתב בפרוזה חרוזה עברית הממוען ל"תלמיד חכם נודד". כתב היד מושפע מן הסגנון הספרדי, אך למעשה מדובר בכתב ידו של שמואל בן יעקב — אחד מרבני צרפת שהגיעו למצרים בראשית המאה השלוש-עשרה. שרד רק החלק האמצעי של המכתב, והוא דן בעניין משפטי. בצד ורסו נראה כי הכותב מותח ביקורת על הנמען ועל אדם שלישי, המצטט את דברי רבי צדוק. Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter in rhymed Hebrew prose addressed to a "wandering scholar." Sephardi-influenced hand (actually the hand of Samuel b. Jacob - one of the French Rabbis that arrived to Egypt at the beginning of the 13th century. AA) . Middle part only. Discussing a legal matter. On verso the writer seems to be critical of the addressee and a third person, who quotes Rabbi Zadok. (Information from Goitein's index card.)
