Princeton Geniza Project description: Communal list of payments toward the kosher meat tax (gabela). Dating: c. 1785–1825 CE, based on the active dates and mention of the scribe/judge Meʾīr Ben-Naʿīm– but likely earlier in this range given that his father Shalom is still alive/referenced. With entries naming dozens of people, arranged in a curiously alphabetical way, with sections devoted to orphans and wives and daughters and divorcees. A large number of widows are listed: ״אל״ stands for "almanat." Requires further examination. MCD.
