Princeton Geniza Project description: P1: f. 1r: description of a dream dated "the night after Shavuʿot 529 AH" (= 22 May 1135 CE plus or minus a day or two); f. 1v: recipe for iron gall ink (continues on the next page); f. 2r: invocations to God including the blessing for wine; f. 2v: Hebrew literary text. P2: f. 1r: the completion of the iron gall ink recipe (continues from P1 f. 1v), which interestingly omits gum Arabic (the binder) and states that the ink "shines" (yalmaʿ); f. 1v: further discussion of a dream (manām) somehow connected to calendrical correspondences between the Hebrew and Islamic calendars, again mentioning the year 1446 Sel. = 1134/35 CE; f. 2v: text of the qiddush. P3: f. 1r–2v: list of magical words followed by a brief explanatory text: "The secret letters. . . I made a copy of these for myself when I returned to Damascus, and I went with the goods (qumāsh) that the Turkmens (al-turkumān) took," possibly a reference to a Seljuk raid; f. 2r–2v: calendar mentioning Jewish festivals (Passover, Ḥanukka). P4: f. 1r: instructions to somebody ("yā mawlāy") including a sequence of letters arranged according to the abjad; f. 1v: instructions regarding ciphers such as Atbash ("or אחם בטע or whatever cipher you please") followed by two examples of Atbash; interestingly, the term used for "cipher" is qabāla (قبالة), pl. qabalāt; f. 2r–2v: calendar with mention of Hebrew festivals (continues from P3). P5: f. 1r: very damaged, only a few letters legible; f. 1v: list of some of the months of the Jewish calendar; f. 2r: description of movements of the sun (first 8 lines) and list of some months of the Jewish calendar; f. 2v: badly rubbed. P6: f. 1r: description of celestial phenomena; ff. 1v, leaf 2: on the reckoning of the days of the festival with mention of the leap year. P7: ff. 1r and 2v: Introductory phrases to psalms (including למנצח and מזמור לדוד with their Arabo-Hebrew transcriptions); f. 1v: the name Manṣūr Ibn al-Zaʿīm (a person known from several other Geniza documents); f. 2r: mention of Rabban Gamaliel and reckoning for the rising of the New Moon. P8: unidentified Hebrew text, literary. At 90 degrees there is also some Judaeo-Arabic text referring to "all the dyes and paints." P9 recto: the same iron-gall ink recipe that is found on P1–P2, except here it is more complete with an introduction (yuʾkhad ʿalā barakat allāh wa-ʿawnihi) and conclusion (ve-shalom) and is written in a skilled hand unlike the crude hand on P1–P2 P9 verso: pen trials in Arabic as well as jottings mentioning quantities of materia medica (including bizr hindī, naʿnāʿ, zabīb, sharāb laymūn).
