שאילתה הלכתית הנוגעת לנערה יתומה. בערבית-יהודית. תיארוך: המאה ה-13 (התאריך המדויק ניתן ככל הנראה לקביעה על סמך האזכורים במסמך). השאלה המרכזית העומדת על הפרק היא קביעת תאריך לידתה של הנערה, וממילא האם הגיעה לבגרות. השולח סבור שאכן הגיעה לבגרות, אך מותיר את ההכרעה בידי הנמען. הוא מדווח על עדותו של פלוני שלפיה הייתה בת חמישה ימים בעת מותו של אל-מֻעַט'ם (ככל הנראה אל-מֻעַט'ם עיסא, שמת בשנת 1227), ודודה מצד אביה נשבע על כך. כן זימנו את אמו של בַּיַאן בעל הבית, שאמרה משהו על שלוש-עשרה שנים ועל אל-מַלִכּ אל-נַאצִר. הנמען מתבקש להכריע בעניין ולהודיע לנגיד. המסמך נכתב על גבי מסמך ערבי קודם ממוחזר (ככל הנראה מסמך מדינתי). ככל הנראה אותו כתב יד של מסמך נוסף מאותו אוסף.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal query concerning an orphan girl. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: 13th century (the precise date can likely be established based on the references in the document). The main question at stake seems to be determining the date of her birth and therefore if she has reached maturity (bagrut) The sender thinks she has, but defers to the addressee. He reports someone's testimony that she was 5 days old when al-Muʿaẓẓam died (likely al-Muʿaẓẓam ʿĪsā, who died in 1227 CE); her paternal uncle swears to this. They summoned the mother of Bayān the landlord, who says something about 13 years and al-Malik al-Nāṣir. The addressee is asked to make up his mind and inform the Nagid.
