חלקו העליון של מסמך משפטי מתאריך 1728 לספירה (תשרי ה'תפ"ט), העוסק ביורשיו ובתלוייו של המנוח אליעזר חיו. בשתי השורות הראשונות נזכר שמואל בן-נעים, שותפו העסקי לשעבר של אליעזר, המעורב בהליכי חלוקת העיזבון. שני השותפים עסקו בתיווך עסקי (בעסק הסרסרות; ראו ערך אצל יסטרוב, עמ' 1029). שמואל צבר חובות נרחבים שלא נפרעו לאליעזר במטבעות זהב עות'מאניים מסוג ג'ינזירלי, וזאת טרם מותו של אליעזר. המנוח הותיר אחריו שני בנים: הבכור, יצחק חיו, המתגורר כעת בליוורנו (ליורני), והצעיר, שלמה מאיו, החי עם אמו ג'ודיקה (גודיקא) בת משה חיו (שככל הנראה היה בן דודו של בעלה מצד אביו). בשורה 11 מצוין כי פנקס החשבונות של המנוח נבדק כחלק מהסדרת העיזבון והחובות. אחד מתנאי ההסדר קובע ששמואל בן-נעים ישלם את החובות שטרם נפרעו רק לג'ודיקה ולבנה משה, ובכך מוצא הבן הבכור יצחק מכלל ההסכם — שכן הוא שהה בליוורנו בעת שהמסמך נערך בקהיר או במקום אחר באימפריה העות'מאנית.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Upper section of a legal document dated 1728 CE (Tishrei 5489 AM) involving the heirs and dependents of the deceased Eliʿezer Ḥayo. Shemuel Ben-Naʿim is mentioned in the first two lines, a former business partner of the Eliʿezer's who is involved in the estate proceedings. The two partners had been working as business brokers/middlemen (בעסק הסרסרות), see Jastrow dict. entry on p.1029. Shemuel racked up extensive unpaid debts to Eliʿezer in Ottoman gold cinzirli before he died. The latter left behind two sons, the elder named Yiṣḥaq Ḥayo, who lives at present in Livorno (ליורני), the younger named Shelomo Mayo, who lives with his mother Judika (גודיקא) bt. Moshe Ḥayo (who was likely her husband's paternal cousin). Line 11 mentions that the financial register of the deceased man was inspected as part of the estate/debt settlement. One of the conditions of the settlement states that Shemuel Ben-Naʿim should only pay the outstanding debts to Judika and her son Moshe, thus excluding the older son Yiṣḥaq from the agreement–who was in Livorno at the time when this document was issued in Cairo or elsewhere in the Ottoman Empire.
