מכתב קצר בערבית-יהודית מאת ברכה גורן, ככל הנראה מקהיר, אל דוד בן-נעים, ככל הנראה באלכסנדריה. מתוארך ל-9 בנובמבר 1820 (ג' בכסלו תקפ"א). גורן מתאר כי קיבל מכתב מדוד, ומוסר חדשות בנוגע לענייניהם של הצרּאפים (צַיַארִיף) — חשבונאים/חלפנים — וכן של ה"צַיַארִיף אל-כֻּובָּאר", ביטוי שאולי מציין תפקיד הנהגתי או מעמד בכיר במקצוע. ייתכן שמכתב זה היה טיוטה, שכן הוא חסר כתובת נמען ואת דפוס הקיפול האופייני לאיגרות שנשלחו בפועל. ישנן שגיאות כתיב רבות, רבות מכדי לסמנן ב-(!) לטובת בהירות התעתיק. חלק ניכר מהנייר נעשה בו שימוש חוזר לרישומי חשבונות.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Short letter in Judaeo-Arabic from Berakha Goren, probably in Cairo, to David Ben-Naʿim, probably in Alexandria. Dated 9 November 1820 (3 Kislev 5581). Goren recounts having received a letter from David and sends news regarding the affairs of the ṣarrāfs (ṣayarīf), accountants/moneychangers, as well as the ṣayarīf al-kūbār, perhaps a leadership role or signifier of clout in the profession. This letter was possibly possibly a draft, it lacks an address and the common folding pattern sent correspondence. There are many misspellings, too many to indicate with (!) for the sake of a clear transcription. Much of the paper was reused for accounts.
