טיוטת מסמך משפטי בעברית. נכתב בקהיר, א' בסיוון שנת התקע"ט (1819). המסמך עוסק בשותפים אליהו בן צהל ואליהו סֻכַּר, ובעדים מאיר בן שלום בן-נעים ונסים טויל. עניינו של המסמך הוא שותפות מסחרית במכירת נוצות וסכום של 15,000 גרוש. אחד השותפים, אליהו סֻכַּר, מתחייב לקחת את משלוח הנוצות באנייה כדי למוכרן בארם צובה (חאלב), אך מותר לו גם למכור את הסחורה במקומות אחרים לאורך הדרך. המילה השאולה מאיטלקית "ritorno" מופיעה מספר פעמים כדי להסביר את פרטי המועד והאופן שבהם ה"החזר" ממכירת הנוצות אמור להגיע לידי השותף האחר. המסמך מזכיר את שני העדים בשורות הפתיחה והסיום, אך מאחר שמדובר בטיוטה, מאיר בן שלום בן-נעים ונסים טויל לא חתמו עליו בפועל (הראשון שימש כסופר המסמך).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal document draft in Hebrew. Location: Cairo. Dated: 1 Sivan 5579 AM, which is 1819 CE. Involves partners Eliyyahu b. Ṣahal and Eliyahu Sūkkar; as well as the witnesses Me'ir b. Shalom Ben-Naʿim and Nissim Ṭawīl. Concerning a commercial partnership in the sale of feathers and a sum of 15,000 gurush. One of the partners, Eliyahu Sūkkar, commits to take the supply of feathers by ship in order to sell them in Aleppo (ארם צובה) yet is also permitted to sell the goods in other locations along the way. The Italian loanword "ritorno" is used on several occasions to explain the details of when/how the "return" from the sales of feathers should reach the hands of other the other partner. The document references two witnesses in the opening and closing lines but given that this is a draft, Me'ir b. Shalom Ben-Naʿim and Nissim Ṭawīl have not proceeded to sign it (the former served as the scribe). ASE. MCD.
