מכתב מאברהם בן פראח' באלכסנדריה אל ישועה בן אסמאעיל בפסטאט. המכתב עוסק במשלוח סחורות והעברות כספים. הכותב מתאר את תנועת הספינות בין אלכסנדריה לסיציליה ומציין כי בכוונתו לתבוע מספר אורגי משי וכן את בנו של הקאדי על חובות שהם חייבים לו. מוזכר כי אבו עבדאללה (אבן אלבעבאע) הגיע למאזרה ביבשה (ככל הנראה מפלרמו). תאריך המכתב: יום שישי א' בחשוון, שעשוי להיות שנת 1056 או 1061 לסה"נ. המכתב מזכיר את הגעתה של ספינה גדולה מטראפני, את ספינתו של נאצר אלדולה ממאזרה בשם שוואל, וכן ספינה של הקיסרית העוגנת במאזרה (דאר מרכב אלסיידה). לדעת גיל, ספינה זו הייתה שייכת לאם מלאל, דודתו של מועז בן באדיס, שליט בית זיר באפריקיה.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Avraham b. Farāḥ, Alexandria to Yeshuʿa b. Ismāʿīl, Fustat. The letter deals with the shipping of goods and money transfers. The writer describes the movement of ships between Alexandria and Sicily and mentions that he intends to sue a few silk workers as well as the son of the qadi for debts they owe. Mentions that Abū ʿAbdallah (Ibn al-Baʿbāʿ) has come to Mazāra overland (presumably from Palermo). Dated: Friday 1 Heshvan, which could be 1056 or 1061 CE. The letter mentions the arrival of a big ship from Trapani, the ship of Nāṣir al-Dawla from Mazara named Shawwāl and a ship of the empress docked in Mazara (dār markab al-Sayyida). Gil thinks this ship belonged to Umm Malāl, the aunt of Muʿizz b. Bādis, the Zirid ruler of Ifriqiyya. YU.
