מכתב או דיווח רשמי בכתב ערבי. שמורות השורות העליונות (~8 שורות). מוזכרת מספר פעמים נאחיה בשם ىىىان (בייסאן?) ומוזכרת נסיעה ממקום זה לנאחיה של ג'אלות (= עין ג'אלות?). מכיל ביטויים כגון 'ואנחנו בדרך... חמישה או שישה... מבני וואאיל בדרך המלך'. המילה قتلوا ('הרגו / נהרגו') מופיעה בסוף השורה התחתונה. ייתכן שמדובר במארב שטמנו מורדים משבט בנו וואאיל. דרוש בדיקה.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter or official report in Arabic script. The upper ~8 lines are preserved. Refers multiple times to a district (nāḥiya) called ىىىان (Baysān?) and refers from travel from that place to the district (nāḥiya) of Jālūt (= ʿAyn Jālūt?). Contains phrases such as "wa-naḥnu fī l-ṭarīq .... khamsa aw sitta [...] ʿaṣāhu min Banī Wāʾil fī l-darb al-sulṭānī" (the Sultan's Highway). The word قتلوا ("they killed / were killed") appears at the end of the bottom line. Might be about getting ambushed by rebels from the Banū Wāʾil tribe. Needs examination.
