מכתב עסקי חשוב שנשלח מאלכסנדריה לפוסטאט על ידי סוחר מגרבי בשם נסים, אשר הגיע לאלכסנדריה מאל-מהדיה בעת מהומות ואי-שקט אזרחי. הכותב מתאר את המצב הקשה השורר באלכסנדריה ובאל-מהדיה, מצרף רשימות מחירים חשובות ומבטיח לנמען כי אשתו ובתו התינוקת שוהות בנוחות גמורה. המכתב מתוארך לשנים 1060–1070. מכתב נוסף הנשלח מאלכסנדריה, בכתב ידו של סלאמה בן מוסא בן אסחאק ספאקסי, ממוען לנמען לא ידוע. המכתב נכתב בקיץ 1062 ומכיל רשימת מחירים באלכסנדריה. מוזכרים בו קשרי מסחר עם ביזנטיון, ג'נובה, כרתים, סיציליה וספרד.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Important business letter sent from Alexandria to Fustat by a Maghribi merchant named Nissim who, coming from al-Mahdiyya, had arrived in Alexandria at time of a civil unrest. The writer describes the difficult situation in Alexandria and al-Mahdiyya, attaches valuable price lists and assures the addressee that his wife and baby daughter are perfectly comfortable.
