מכתב ככל הנראה משופט בקהיר החדשה לשופט אחר, ככל הנראה בפסטאט. בערבית יהודית. כתב ידו של השולח עשוי להיות מוכר. הוא מדווח שאבו זכרי לא הביא עמו כל מכתב בי"ב בחשון. מישהו פנה לנגיד שר השרים (תואר השמור בדרך כלל למבורך בן סעדיה, שכיהן בשנים 1094–1111) וביקש הנחיה בעניין פרשת ר' מצליח (כנראה אין מדובר במצליח בן שלמה גאון, שהגיע למצרים בסביבות שנת 1127, אך יש להביא גם אפשרות זו בחשבון). נראה שהנגיד מסר את תשובתו לשולח, שהיה אחראי על תיק זה מראשיתו. הוא שמע שהנמען מעוניין להיות מעורב בדרך כלשהי. הוא רומז למושג התלמודי נזדקן הדין. נעשה שימוש חוזר ברקטו לשיר חתונה. Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter probably from a judge, in New Cairo, to another judge, probably in Fustat. In Judaeo-Arabic. The sender's handwriting may be known. He reports that Abū Zikrī brought no letter with him on the 12th of Ḥeshvan. Somebody went to the Nagid Sar ha-Sarim (a title usually reserved for Mevorakh b. Saʿadya, in office 1094–1111) and requested guidance concerning the case of R. Maṣliaḥ (this is probably not Maṣliaḥ b. Shelomo Gaʾon, since he arrived in Egypt ca. 1127, but this possibility should be entertained). It seems the Nagid gave his response to the sender, who has been in charge of this case since its beginning. He has heard that the addressee wants to be involved somehow. He alludes to the Talmudic concept of נזדקן הדין, "the judgment has grown old." Reused on recto for a wedding poem. AA. ASE.
