מכתב. ייתכן שנשלח מיַעקוב בן יצחק לאמו (שורה 3: "אני מבקש מהאל שיגזור על אמי בריאות טובה"), אך הזיהויים האלה אינם ודאיים. נכתב בערבית-יהודית, כשהבסמלה כתובה בכתב ערבי. כל המכתב, או לפחות מה שעדיין ניתן לקריאה ואינו דהוי מדי, הוא הזמנה למגוון רחב של חומרי רוקחות ותרופות (materia medica). בצד השני (verso) מופיע טקסט ספרותי, ובו בין היתר קטע אחד העוסק בהלכות מקח וממכר וקטע נוסף העוסק בהלכות הוצאה (טלטול בשבת).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter. Possibly from Yaʿqūb b. Isḥāq to his mother (l. 3: "I ask God that He decree the good health of my mother"). But these identifications are tentative. Written in Judaeo-Arabic with the basmala in Arabic script. The entire letter, or at least what is not too faded to read, is an order for many types of materia medica. On verso there is literary text, including one segment on the laws of sale and another on the laws of carrying.
